Regalia

All graduates who are walking in Commencement are required to wear a cap, gown, and hood for their discipline. Regalia is available for purchase in the Gear Shop beginning March 13, 2025. If preferred, Undergraduate, Graduate, and Doctoral students may order regalia to be shipped home beginning March 14, 2025. Students graduating with two degrees should select the degree with which they will be processing during the ceremony. Undergraduate students earning their bachelor’s degrees will celebrate their commencement on Saturday, May 10, at 10 a.m.?Doors open at 9 a.m.

Graduate students completing their master’s and/or doctoral programs will be awarded their degrees on Saturday, May 10, at 2 p.m. Doors open at 1 p.m.?

Undergraduate students will each be allotted four tickets for guest admission into Sorrentino Gymnasium. Additional?overflow seating for non-ticketed guests will be available in the Arnold Arena. The ceremony?for undergraduates will be broadcast onto a screen for guests?in the overflow seating area.

Commencement Packets include day-of-event instructions, a yellow card indicating students’ order in the lineup, and four (4) tickets for guest admission to the gymnasium.

Commencement packet distribution will occur in Mund Concourse outside of the LVC Gear Shop on the dates/times listed below. Students who are unable to pick up their packet during one of these distribution times can retrieve their packet in the Registrar’s Office (Humanities 106) during normal business hours (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m.), starting April 24.

  • Monday, 4/21, 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
  • Tuesday, 4/22, 9–11 a.m.
  • Wednesday, 4/23, 4–6 p.m.

Yes.?Graduates who are attending the ceremony may share unused guest tickets with another graduate who has been assigned to the same ceremony.?This does not need to be reported to the College as safety guidelines and procedures are based on the overall number of attendees.

Yes! The ceremony will be live-streamed for those who can’t attend in-person.

A video recording of the full ceremony and a highlight reel video will also be available for viewing online several days after the event.

Diplomas will be mailed home to Lebanon Valley College graduates following the final calculations of all grades for May graduates—approximately six weeks following graduation. The College reserves the right to hold any diplomas or transcripts for students who may have remaining balances on their student account. Please contact the Business Office (cashier@lvc.edu) for further information.

Plenty of accessible parking spaces are available outside the Arnold Sports Center in the first few rows of parking.

A limited number of wheelchairs will be available at the information desk outside the Arnold Sports Center (inside in case of inclement weather).

Ticketed guests who need accessible seating may have one ticketed guest join them. To keep spaces open for those with mobility needs and devices, we ask other family members to sit in areas not designated for accessibility.

Wheelchair and accessible seating for ticketed guests will be available in several locations:

  • on the floor of Sorrentino Gymnasium (a guest with accessibility needs plus one additional guest; 14 seats available plus 14 for accompanying guests)
  • in the designated wheelchair area on the upper level of Sorrentino Gymnasium (a?guest with accessibility needs plus one additional guest; space available for 2-3 wheelchair/mobility device users)
  • in designated seats on the upper-left level of Sorrentino Gymnasium for those who are able to transfer to a seat.

To reach the elevator to the upper level, take the ramp down to the lower level of Sorrentino and proceed to the hallway on your left.

Non-ticketed guests with accessibility needs will find seating in Arnold Arena.

The wearing of cords, sashes, and other ornamentation during the Commencement ceremony is reserved for the following:

  • Honor cords or pins?may be worn by honor society inductees or members of approved student organizations receiving academic recognition. Cords and/or pins are awarded through the appropriate honor society. More information about the College’s honor societies may be found in the College Catalog or by contacting the appropriate department.
  • Multi-identity stoles, such as the Kente cloth, Serape, and Lavender stoles, are worn to honor the history and contributions of individuals from social identity groups; stoles from the Office of Culture, Community, and Belonging as part of a recognition Ceremony held prior to Commencement.
  • Student government stoles?may be worn by student government leaders and are provided by Student Affairs.
  • Flag patches?may be worn to recognize the countries in which students studied abroad during their time at LVC. They can be obtained through the Director of Global Education.
  • Military cords?may be worn by Veterans and Active Duty servicemembers and Reservists of the US Armed Forces. Cords are provided by the Financial Aid Office upon request.
