France | Aix-en-Provence
This fall or spring semester program is offered to students in any major who have completed at least two years of college-level French language.
Aix-en-Provence, a town in southern France, north of Marseille, is known for its cafés, theaters, vibrant markets, and offers a quintessential French experience under its sunny skies. The town is home to 144,000 people and features sparkling fountains and imposing aristocratic buildings that remind you of the city’s historical wealth and cultural significance.
There is a mandatory set of pre-departure orientations at LVC for all students planning to participate in the program. Students also attend an on-site orientation in Aix.
Program Details
Housing options are dependent upon availability. LVC’s preference is for students to be placed in a homestay where breakfast and dinner will be provided. If a homestay is not available, students will be placed in a shared apartment with a kitchen for self-catered meals.
Students attend Aix Marseille University and take courses through the?Service Universitaire des Langues?(SUL), the university’s French language school. Founded in 1953, SUL (previously known as Service Universitaire de Fran?ais Langue Etrangère, SUFLE) is regarded as one of the best French-language teaching centers in the country and hosts about 1,000 students from 65 countries.
