Exercise Science

Whether you want to work in strength conditioning, corporate or community wellness, or cardiac rehabilitation, LVC's undergraduate exercise science major prepares you to work with clients who have a range of health needs, chronic diseases, and injuries. By the time you graduate, you'll be able to help your clients perform exercises and improve their physical health and well-being, all while designing personalized interventions grounded in evidence-based research.

Our Exercise Science degree program in Lebanon County, PA, is designed to give you more hands-on experience where you’ll need it most, depending on your career goals.

With the graduate track, you can focus on getting into graduate school for allied health fields or more clinically-oriented careers such as exercise physiology and physical and occupational therapy.

The Health and Wellness track is ideal for students interested in health and fitness careers such as community-based adult and youth fitness, corporate wellness, performance optimization, and health promotion

The Exercise, Sport, and Health Promotion track aligns with future careers in health and fitness and athletic performance such as community-based adult and child fitness, corporate wellness, performance optimization, and health promotion, with an emphasis on preparing for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) exam.

Tracks Tailored to Your Career Interests

LVC’s Exercise Science program is CAAHEP-accredited and grounded in evidence-based practice, led by faculty who are experts in helping patients with exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, and obesity and chronic disease. You can also take your interest in exercise science beyond academics by joining one of our club sports teams or the Exercise Science Club, which provides networking opportunities, hands-on learning, and professional development. Need-based departmental scholarships are available.

The Jeanne and Edward H. Arnold Health Professions Pavilion offers flexible, state-of-the-art classroom space, observation rooms acoustically treated for sound, the Lewis Human Performance and Gross Anatomy labs, collaborative faculty offices, and new technologies that support clinical and applied science teaching.

Our students get real-world experience with athletes and clients and benefit from strong relationships with local organizations like Lebanon YMCA, Penn State Health, WellSpan Health, Penn Medicine Lancaster, and Power Train Sports.
