In addition to teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate majors, Professor Kelly Shenk provides clinical education and supervision to first-year graduate clinicians who provide speech therapy services in LVC’s Center for Speech, Language, and Hearing Disorders. She has over 30 years of experience in the field of medical speech-language pathology, with a strong background in the evaluation and treatment of adults with neurological and medically complex communication and swallowing disorders. Professor Shenk is also committed to expanding adult services within the LVC clinic, with a particular focus on developing opportunities to serve individuals with Parkinson’s disease, aphasia, and those experiencing cognitive-linguistic impairments. Through this work, she enhances both access to care for the community and clinical training for graduate students.
