Sport Management Minor
No matter which area of Sport Management you want to enjoy a successful career in—Sports Marketing or Sports Business—LVC’s Sport Management minor will help get you there.
Students pursuing our Sport Management Minor will take courses in Business Administration, Economics, English, Marketing, and Psychology to develop critical thinking, effective communications, analytics, and professional ethics to prepare for all levels of Sports Business and Sports Marketing.
As a nearly $600 billion global industry (PwC Sports Outlook), the Sports Business field encompasses sectors like sports marketing, event and facilities management, sports information and analytics, sponsorships, athletic communications, and media relations. Driven largely by increasing investments in sports technology and the fan experience, the overall sports market is expected to grow by 5-7% annually through 2030 (The Business Research Company), leading to increasing career opportunities for students with appropriate academic and internship experiences.
Opportunities in Sport Management are expected to continue expanding into the coming decade. These opportunities may include professional and amateur sports organizations throughout the region, sports media groups, fitness and wellness enterprises, and event/venue planning and organization.
